The National Football League (NFL) is buzzing with news and excitement as the 2021 season approaches. On May 19, the league made several announcements that will shape the upcoming season.
First, the NFL officially announced that the 60th Super Bowl will be held in California. The game will be held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. This marks the first time in NFL history that a Super Bowl will be held in California.
In addition, the NFL also announced that the new XFL team, the Houston Roughnecks, will join the league as an expansion team for the 2021 season. The Roughnecks will be the first XFL team to join the NFL since the league was founded in 2001.
Finally, the NFL revealed that the new San Antonio Commanders franchise is still waiting to join the league. The Commanders were originally part of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) but were not included in the NFL’s expansion plans for 2021. The Commanders are still hoping to join the NFL in the future, but no official announcement has been made yet.
