‘ Offense
Nathaniel Hackett, the offensive coordinator for the New York Jets, recently responded to comments made by New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton about the Jets’ offense. Payton had said that the Jets’ offense was “predictable” and “vanilla,” and Hackett took exception to those comments.
In an interview with the New York Post, Hackett said that he was “disappointed” in Payton’s comments and that he felt they were “unfair.” He went on to say that the Jets’ offense is anything but predictable and vanilla, and that they have been working hard to make sure they are unpredictable and creative. He also said that the Jets have been using different formations and personnel groupings to keep opposing defenses off balance.
Hackett also pointed out that the Jets have been successful on offense this season, ranking in the top 10 in points scored and total yards. He said that the Jets have been able to move the ball effectively and score points despite having a young quarterback in Sam Darnold.
Hackett’s comments show that he is not happy with Payton’s assessment of the Jets’ offense. He believes that the Jets have been doing a good job of being creative and unpredictable on offense, and that they have been successful despite having a young quarterback. It will be interesting to see if the Jets can continue to be successful on offense as they move forward this season.
