The New York Giants opened up their preseason with a bang, as they defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-12 in their first game of the year. The Giants looked impressive on both sides of the ball, and rookie running back Bijan Robinson shined in his debut.
Robinson, the Giants’ fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, had a strong showing in his first game as a professional. He rushed for 40 yards on eight carries, including a 16-yard touchdown run. He also caught two passes for 18 yards, showing off his versatility and ability to make plays in the passing game.
The Giants’ defense also looked impressive, holding the Steelers to just 12 points. They forced two turnovers, with safety Jabrill Peppers picking off a pass and linebacker Tae Crowder recovering a fumble. The Giants also sacked Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph three times, showing off their ability to pressure the quarterback.
Overall, it was an impressive performance from the Giants in their preseason opener. Robinson showed why he was a fourth-round pick, and the defense looked stout against a talented Steelers offense. If the Giants can continue to play at this level, they could be a force to be reckoned with in the 2021 season.
