The Miami Dolphins suffered a tough loss on Sunday, falling to the Denver Broncos 16-14. The loss was largely due to the stellar performance of Denver’s Bradley Chubb, who had two sacks, two tackles for loss, and four quarterback hits.
Chubb, a first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, has been a force for the Broncos this season. He has already racked up 8.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss, and his relentless pressure on the quarterback has been a major factor in Denver’s success. His performance against the Dolphins was no exception.
Chubb was able to get into the backfield quickly and often, disrupting plays before they had a chance to develop. He was able to get to Miami quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick multiple times, forcing him into quick throws or errant passes. His pressure also forced the Dolphins into several three-and-outs, stalling their offense and keeping them from getting into a rhythm.
The Dolphins were unable to counter Chubb’s pressure, as their offensive line struggled to contain him. Miami’s offensive line was unable to give Fitzpatrick enough time to make plays downfield, and the Dolphins were unable to establish any sort of running game.
The loss was a disappointing one for the Dolphins, but it was a reminder of just how good Bradley Chubb is. He has been a dominant force for the Broncos this season, and he showed why on Sunday. If the Dolphins want to be successful in the future, they will need to find a way to contain Chubb and keep him from disrupting their offense.
