The New York Jets have received some bad news as their star quarterback Aaron Rodgers is set to miss the next 6-9 months due to an injury. Rodgers suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during a preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens on August 17th.
This is a huge blow for the Jets, who had high hopes for the upcoming season with Rodgers at the helm. Rodgers had been playing at an elite level, throwing for 3,400 yards and 28 touchdowns last season. He was expected to lead the Jets to the playoffs and possibly even a Super Bowl appearance.
Now, the Jets will have to look elsewhere for a quarterback. They have signed veteran quarterback Josh McCown to fill in for Rodgers while he recovers, but he is not expected to be able to replicate Rodgers’ production. The team will also have to rely on their running game and defense more than they had planned.
The injury is a major setback for Rodgers as well. He will have to go through a long and arduous rehabilitation process in order to get back to full health. He will also have to work hard to regain his form and prove that he can still be an elite quarterback in the NFL.
The Jets and their fans will be hoping that Rodgers can make a full recovery and return to the field as soon as possible. In the meantime, they will have to make do without their star quarterback and hope that they can still make a run at the playoffs.
