June 30th was a busy day in the NFL, with news coming out of Jacksonville and Houston. In Jacksonville, the Jaguars announced that offensive tackle Cam Robinson had been suspended for the first two games of the regular season for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. Robinson was arrested in May of 2018 on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm without a license. He was later cleared of all charges, but the NFL still felt it necessary to suspend him for two games.
Meanwhile, in Houston, Texans defensive end J.J. Watt announced that he will be appearing on CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on July 9th. Watt has been a fan favorite since entering the league in 2011, and his appearance on the show is sure to be a hit. Watt is known for his charitable work off the field, and he’ll likely be discussing his work with the Rebuild Texas Fund, which helps those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Overall, June 30th was an eventful day in the NFL. The Jaguars will have to make do without Robinson for the first two games of the season, while Watt will be showing off his charitable side on national television. It should be an interesting start to the NFL season.
