The Washington Commanders are gearing up for the 2023 season, and they’re looking to bolster their roster in order to make a run at the championship. The Commanders have been a competitive team since their inception in 2021, but they’ve yet to make it to the playoffs. With the 2023 season fast approaching, the Commanders are looking to add some key pieces to their roster in order to make a deep playoff run.
The Commanders have already made some moves in the offseason, signing veteran quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Brady is a future Hall of Famer and one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in NFL history. His presence alone should bring a level of stability and leadership to the team. Hopkins is one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the league, and his addition gives the Commanders a legitimate deep threat.
The Commanders are also looking to add some depth on defense. They’ve signed former Pro Bowl safety Tyrann Mathieu and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. Mathieu is a playmaker in the secondary who can make an impact both in coverage and against the run. Suh is a disruptive force in the middle of the defensive line who can collapse the pocket and create havoc for opposing quarterbacks.
The Commanders are also looking to add some depth at running back. They’ve signed former Pro Bowl running back Le’Veon Bell, who is a dual-threat back who can make plays both on the ground and through the air. Bell is a proven commodity who should be able to help the Commanders move the ball downfield.
The Commanders are also looking to add some depth on the offensive line. They’ve signed former Pro Bowl tackle Trent Williams, who is one of the best pass protectors in the league. Williams should be able to help keep Brady upright and give him time to find open receivers downfield.
The Commanders are hoping that these moves will help them make a deep playoff run in 2023. With Brady at the helm and Hopkins stretching the field, the Commanders should be able to put up points in bunches. On defense, Mathieu and Suh should be able to create pressure on opposing quarterbacks and force turnovers. If the Commanders can get solid production from their new additions, they should be able to make a serious run at the championship in 2023.
