The Detroit Lions pulled off a huge win against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, defeating them 42-17. The Lions were led by big games from quarterback Jared Goff and rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs.
Goff had a great day, throwing for 310 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for a touchdown, showing off his dual-threat capabilities. He was able to spread the ball around, completing passes to seven different receivers. He was able to get the ball downfield, completing passes of over 20 yards to Marvin Jones Jr., Quintez Cephus, and T.J. Hockenson.
Gibbs was also instrumental in the Lions’ victory, rushing for a career-high 158 yards and two touchdowns. He was able to break off big runs, including a 57-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter that sealed the victory for the Lions. He also had four receptions for 26 yards, showing off his versatility as a receiver out of the backfield.
The Lions defense also played well, holding the Broncos to just 17 points and forcing two turnovers. They were able to limit the Broncos’ passing attack, sacking quarterback Drew Lock three times and intercepting him once.
The Lions’ victory was an impressive one, and it was due in large part to the performances of Goff and Gibbs. Goff was able to make plays with his arm and his legs, while Gibbs showed off his big-play ability with his long touchdown run. The Lions defense also played well, limiting the Broncos’ offense and forcing two turnovers. With this win, the Lions have improved to 5-7 on the season and are still in contention for a playoff spot.
