The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been on a roll lately, and their latest victory over the Carolina Panthers is proof of that. On Sunday, November 15th, the Bucs were able to come out on top in a close 21-18 victory over the Panthers. Mike Evans was the star of the game, catching seven passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns.
The first touchdown came in the first quarter when Evans caught a pass from quarterback Jameis Winston and ran it in for a 20-yard touchdown. This gave the Bucs an early 7-0 lead. The Panthers responded with a field goal, but the Bucs were able to extend their lead to 14-3 at halftime thanks to a touchdown pass from Winston to tight end Cameron Brate.
In the second half, the Panthers were able to cut the Bucs’ lead to 14-12 with a touchdown pass from Cam Newton to Devin Funchess. However, Evans was able to put the game away with his second touchdown of the day, a 25-yard catch from Winston. The Bucs were able to hold on for the 21-18 victory.
Evans’ performance was crucial in helping the Bucs get the win. His 122 receiving yards were a season-high, and he now has 885 receiving yards on the season. He also became the first player in NFL history to have at least 70 receptions and 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first four seasons.
The Bucs have now won four out of their last five games and are currently in first place in the NFC South. With Evans leading the way, they look poised to make a deep run in the playoffs. The Bucs will look to keep their momentum going when they take on the San Francisco 49ers next Sunday.
