The 2020-21 NFL season has been one of the most exciting in recent memory, and one of the biggest stories has been the rise of Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Hill has been a force to be reckoned with since entering the league in 2016, but this season he is taking his game to a whole new level. Through the first 13 weeks of the season, Hill has amassed 1,021 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, putting him on pace to break several records.
The most impressive record that Hill is chasing is the single-season receiving yards record. Currently held by Julio Jones, who had 1,677 yards in 2015, Hill is on pace to break this record with 1,841 yards. This would be an incredible accomplishment for Hill, as he would become just the third player in NFL history to reach 1,800 yards in a single season.
In addition to the single-season receiving yards record, Hill is also on pace to break the single-season touchdown receptions record. The current record is held by Randy Moss, who had 23 touchdown receptions in 2007. Hill is on pace to break this record with 25 touchdown receptions. This would be an incredible feat for Hill, as he would become just the second player in NFL history to reach 25 touchdown receptions in a single season.
Hill’s impressive performance this season has also put him in contention for the NFL MVP award. He currently leads the league in receiving yards and touchdowns, and is second in receptions. If he continues his current pace, he could become the first wide receiver to win the MVP award since Jerry Rice in 1987.
It’s clear that Tyreek Hill is chasing greatness this season. With his impressive performance and record-breaking pace, he has put himself in contention for several prestigious awards. Whether or not he can break these records and win the MVP award remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Tyreek Hill is making his mark on the NFL this season.
