Shaq Thompson, the professional football player for the Carolina Panthers, recently concluded his breakfast season. For the past two years, Thompson has been providing free breakfast to students in his hometown of Sacramento, California.
The breakfast season began in 2018 when Thompson partnered with the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services to provide free breakfast to students at local schools. The program was designed to help students get a healthy start to their day and to provide them with the nutrition they need to succeed in school.
Thompson was inspired to start the breakfast season after seeing the impact of poverty on his own family. He wanted to make sure that no student in his hometown went hungry and that all students had access to a nutritious breakfast.
The breakfast season was a huge success and provided over 1,000 students with free breakfast every week. Thompson was also able to provide additional resources such as books and school supplies to students in need.
Thompson’s commitment to helping students in his hometown didn’t stop with the breakfast season. He also donated $50,000 to support local schools and hosted a back-to-school drive to provide students with the supplies they need for the upcoming school year.
Thompson’s commitment to giving back to his community is admirable and inspiring. His breakfast season was an incredible success and helped countless students in his hometown get the nutrition they need to succeed in school. Thompson’s generosity and commitment to helping others is an example of what it means to be a true leader.
