The start of the 2020 NFL season is quickly approaching, and with it comes the return of three of the league’s most exciting quarterbacks. Brock Purdy, Tua Tagovailoa and Jimmy Garoppolo are all set to make their return to the field for preseason Week 2.
Brock Purdy, the Iowa State quarterback, was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He is expected to compete for the backup quarterback job behind Kyler Murray. Purdy has impressed in his limited action this preseason, completing 8 of 11 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown. He will look to continue his strong play against the Oakland Raiders this week.
Tua Tagovailoa, the Miami Dolphins’ first-round pick, is also set to make his return to the field. Tagovailoa has been sidelined since suffering a hip injury in November of 2019. He has been working hard to get back to full health and is now ready to take the field. Tagovailoa will look to continue his strong play from last season, when he completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 1,814 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Finally, Jimmy Garoppolo is set to make his return for the San Francisco 49ers. Garoppolo missed most of last season due to a knee injury, but he is now healthy and ready to go. He will look to build on his strong performance from 2018, when he completed 67.4 percent of his passes for 4,000 yards and 27 touchdowns.
The return of these three quarterbacks is sure to be a welcome sight for NFL fans everywhere. Brock Purdy, Tua Tagovailoa and Jimmy Garoppolo are all exciting players who have the potential to make an impact in the league this season.
